WIO series sensors measure water activity in gear oil online and warn before free water forms; ETH-A2E checks thresholds with its rule engine, drives local alarms and trends the data in Web SCADA.
When cooling-water leaks or condensation get into rolling-mill and reducer gear oil, the oil film breaks down and tooth wear accelerates. Periodic oil sampling only shows the moment of sampling; water ingress between two samples goes unnoticed.
The WIO series water-in-oil sensor has a stainless-steel probe (IP66) that sits directly in the oil line and continuously measures water activity from 0 to 1 aw (±0.05 aw) together with oil temperature. aw shows directly how close the oil is to saturation; near 1, free water is about to separate, without first converting for oil temperature or type.
The sensor provides both 4–20 mA and Modbus RTU outputs: an older PLC can take the analog signal directly, while new systems read it through the ETH-A2E industrial IoT gateway. The gateway checks thresholds with its IF-THEN rule engine, drives a local beacon through a DO on an A2 I/O module, and trends the values in the built-in FluxLive Web SCADA. The logic runs on site, so alarms still work when the network is down.
