WIO series sensors measure water activity in insulating oil online over Modbus RTU or 4–20 mA; ETH-A2N distributes the same data to SCADA and other systems at once.
As transformer paper insulation ages or breather desiccant is spent, moisture gradually enters the insulating oil and lowers its insulating strength. Changes between periodic samples go unseen.
The WIO series water-in-oil sensor suits transformer insulating oil. It continuously measures water activity from 0 to 1 aw (±0.05 aw) and oil temperature, with an operating range of −40 to 125 °C. aw shows directly how close the oil is to saturation, so the warning comes before free water forms.
Outputs are Modbus RTU (RS-485) and 4–20 mA, with a relay output option. An existing substation SCADA can read it directly; when several systems need the same data, the ETH-A2N dual-port serial gateway distributes it to two network segments without a separate cable run for each system.
