ETH-A2N Dual-LAN Serial Device Server

Six-plus-one serial ports distributed and bridged from a single unit. Two independent 10/100 LAN ports span two network segments, with 6 × RS-485 plus 1 × RS-232. One-to-many distribution, automatic merging on overlapping destinations and reverse routing, plus a Modbus TCP gateway with RTU master, slave and transparent modes.

Why six-plus-one ports

One unit per cabinet

A typical cabinet holds five or six serial devices, which used to mean stacking several one- or two-port converters. Six-plus-one ports covers the cabinet in a single box — fewer units and fewer power supplies.

Two segments kept apart

LAN-A and LAN-B each have their own MAC and IP, so the device network and the monitoring network can stay separate, or be configured as a redundant pair. The device network need not be exposed to the office segment just to be monitored.

Diagnosable after the fact

Black-box event logging keeps the communication history in the device, so a field anomaly does not have to be reproduced to be diagnosed — which matters most for intermittent faults that never reproduce on demand.

One stream, several destinations

Serial data does not need an external splitter just to reach one more place.

One-to-many distribution
Data from one serial port can be sent to several destinations at once — for example the existing SCADA and a new data collection system.
Merge on overlap
When several sources point at the same destination they are merged automatically, with no extra aggregation rules to configure.
Reverse routing
Responses are routed back to their originating source, so masters and slaves can be mixed without replies going to the wrong party.

All three Modbus roles

The built-in Modbus TCP gateway maps downstream devices to a single IP for the host to poll. On the serial side the unit can act as an RTU master polling actively, as an RTU slave read by an existing PLC, or stay purely transparent and carry the original protocol through untouched. Different ports on the same unit can take different roles.

Built for life after commissioning

Per-port traffic, link state and error counters are visible live in the interface. A TF card provides long-term logging that keeps accumulating through a network outage, and an IP allow-list limits which sources may connect. Serial transceivers are isolated, which helps on long buses and across differing ground references.
